The primary aim of the hemp cooperative is to nurture the establishment of a hemp industry in the Northern Rivers of NSW that is based on principles of sustainability. The hemp industry can include amongst others, primary producers, processors, manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers.

Its primary functions are to:

• Promote principles of sustainability, cooperation and fairness within the Northern Rivers hemp industry.

• Become an important communication medium for people involved in the Northern Rivers hemp industry.

• Develop a hemp library of useful literature for people involved in the Northern Rivers hemp industry.

• Establish a hemp germplasm collection that will allow seedstock to be available to Northern Rivers hemp farmers.
